Hi Art, It's possible to create files > 2 GiBytes that are classic netCDF files (format variant 1, using only 32-bit file ofsets), but only under fairly restricted conditions on the structure of the data. This is described in the documentation, see http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/netcdf.html#Large-File-Support Also, there is more on this in the FAQ section on Large File Support: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/faq.html#Large%20File%20Support The large File Support we added with the version 2 format variant that included 64-bit offsets removed most of the restrictions on large files. If you have more questions about this, please let us know. --Russ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://www.unidata.ucar.edu Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: TLK-216952 Department: Support netCDF Priority: Normal Status: Closed
