Thanks again for pointing out PyNIO.  It's a Python analogue to our netCDF Java 
library, in reading multiple kinds of data through a netCDF-like interface.  
I'll write up an entry for PyNIO for our Software page and pass it by you.

By the way, who wrote PyNIO?
