The library builds out of the box on Mac OSX from the source
distribution:

  ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/netcdf.tar.gz

but you can also get a pre-compiled binary distribution that will
install more easily from here:

  
ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/binary/macosx_10.3_powerpc/netcdf-3.6.0-p1.pkg.zip

You can get any of several freely available implementations of a
MATLAB/netCDF interface by following the links here:
