The file "configure.log" that you sent me has the following at its end:
creating ./config.status
./config.status: line 32: syntax error near unexpected token `macros.make'
./config.status: line 32: `AC_OUTPUT_FILES(macros.make)'
This indicates a severe problem with the configure script and is
extremely unusual. Would you please send me the file "config.status",
which should be in the top-level source directory.
