>From: BRIAN JOSEPH LEPORE <address@hidden> >Organization: University of Wisconsin >Keywords: 200206191909.g5JJ9Ia19293 netCDF Windows Brian, >I tried to download the Windows NetCDF software to no avail. Can you >help? Please send the exact URL that you tried to use. I just downloaded the netCDF 3.5.0 binary for Win32 from: ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/contrib/win32/netcdf-3.5.0.win32bin.ZIP with no problems. One thing that our FTP server enforces is forward and reverse name lookup for machines attempting to do downloads (helps prevent denial of service attacks). What machine are you trying to do the FTP from (fully qualified host name and IP address)? Also, one problem we see again and again is someone trying to transfer to a directory on their machine for which they don't have write access. Since you didn't include the exact error message you were getting, I can't tell if this situation may apply to you. >Regards, >Brian Lepore Tom Yoksas >From address@hidden Thu Jun 20 10:50:39 2002 >Subject: Re: 20020619: ftp link to win software is dead ThanksFor Replying Tom, I tried it again today, and it worked. But then, I realized that I had already downloaded the ZIP files a month ago. Ooops. Anyhow, did you also receive my question about the preference of platforms? I sent it about the same time as the one you responded to. Essentially, i asked why I might want to use windows instead of linux or hp-unix in order to work with netcdf data. Cheers, BRian
