20001221: Netcdf Installation: confdefs.h not found

Odd.  The only thing I can think of would be to manually step through
that section of the "configure" script where the problem occurs to 
discover why the "confdefs.h" file isn't found.  This is probably more
work than you wish.

It should.  I notice that we do have a binary distribution of netCDF 3.4
for a SPARC system running SunOS 5.6 -- so you should be OK.
