I'm afraid I don't recall any "cdf2ascii", but as part of the FAN utilities package, there is an nc2text that converts netCDF values to text more suitable for spreadsheets. FAN is documented at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/netcdf/fan_utils.html I just did an AltaVista search, and it found mentions of cdf2ascii at: http://www.sgp.arm.gov/mentor/siroscdf.shtml http://www.sgp.arm.gov/mentor/siros.html so maybe someone there knows more about it. --Russ _____________________________________________________________________ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://www.unidata.ucar.edu
