This is the problem.  LD_XDR should be set to `-lnsl'.

Try this:

    1.  Remove file config.status.

    2.  Set the variable LD_XDR to `-lnsl' in the environment, e.g.

        setenv LD_XDR -lnsl

    3.  Re-execute the configure script.

    4.  Check the value of LD_XDR in the file config.status.  It should
        be `-lnsl'.  If it's not, then tell me; otherwise, proceed with
        a `make test'.
