950126: NetCDF on 64-bit SGI Irix 6.1 (R8000)?

We managed to build a netCDF implementation that appears to work on your
platform.  You'll find it installed in ~emmerson/{bin,include,lib,man}.
It passes all the C tests.

Unfortunately, the FORTRAN interface doesn't work -- so don't use it.
We're investigating the problem.

There's another fellow who's having problems with the netCDF package
under IRIX64.  His name is Larry Rosen <address@hidden>.
Would you do me a favor and create a compressed tar file of the binary
distribution (~emmerson/{bin,include,lib,man} for him and put it
somewhere where he can get it.
