Hi Peter: You are very welcome! I too, have been waiting for some way to read these files without using the rather cumbersome HDF / HDF-EOS libraries. Finally I just finally did it myself, since it fit well into the cdm framework we have been developing. A few caveats: I have tested against every HDF file I can get my hands on, but im sure there are still some problems to be found. Please try it out and send any problems to me. Also, identifying HDF-EOS coordinate systems is ongoing work which we've only just started. I will be releasing the latest 4.0 version tommorrow, so if you are planning on trying it, you should download then. John Peter Hollemans wrote:
Hi John,I just noticed the note on your Java netCDF page on file format support for HDF 4 and HDF-EOS in the Java netCDF 4.0 library. I haven't tried it out yet, but I just need to say: BLESS YOU BLESS YOU BLESS YOU! Thank god someone is doing that work! I have been waiting 10 years for this!Best regards, Peter -- Peter Hollemans, Terrenus Earth Sciences Consultant for the NOAA/NESDIS CoastWatch Program Phone: (250) 478-1006 Email: address@hidden
