announce: release netcdf-java stable version 2.2.18

This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. We provide the archive for reference; many of the answers presented here remain technically correct, even if somewhat outdated. A new stable release of netcdf-java 2.2.18 is now ready at

This release has many bug fixes and feature enhancements. We recommend that you 
upgrade ASAP.
