Hi, re: > Thanks, This is more or less what I was doing, or at least I think I > had done enough that It would try to do an image list, but it would list > any files (I know it stated the files from and strace). Hmm... re: > So 2018 is not enough I guess... It seems to be working for 2019.1. Correct, support for the GLM gridded/image composites was added in 2019. re: > I guess because I was not 100 percent sure of what I was doing, and I > could read the GOES ABI nc files just fine with 2018, I did not consider > trying other versions. This is certainly understandable! I suggest that upgrading to the newly released SSEC v2020.1 version would be a "good thing" :-) re: > Thanks so much. No worries. re: > I must learn if I can overlay this on top of imagery, which someone > suggested I may not be able to do inside of McIDAS, and if I can apply > a log scale for displaying the gradient. The GLM gridded/image products are treated as images, so overlaying various fields will work as for other images. As far as log scaling goes, adding this capability to the ABIN servers and also moving the various configuration settings for Level 2 products into user modifiable configuration files is one of the things on my ToDo list. re: > I have considered moving away from python imagery manipulation code for > GLM to McIDAS, as we have a lot of McIDAS code set up as it is. OK, sounds interesting. re: > Thanks again for showing me this. No worries. I'm glad that I could help!
