Hi Carol, re: > I've since talked with Greg Stossmeister a bit more about it. I think if I > just shift the current enhancement table using SU, then I might get a good > color table. OK. Out of curiosity, which "current enhancement" are you referring to? re: which satellite and band are you wanting to use?* > GOES-16 channel 14 Interesting. I typically look at/use the 10.3 um/Channel 13 band, not the 11.2 um/Channel 14 band. re: are you wanting a color enhancement, or a gray scale one?* > I would prefer color. I figured as much. re: > I tried the DDC.ET, but that's not really what they were looking for either . > > http://catalog.eol.ucar.edu/icicle/satellite/209/1299/266252/76067404 > > This is the popular convection enhancement that I got from Tim Schmidt. > > http://catalog.eol.ucar.edu/icicle/satellite/209/1299/266252/76067483 This looks nice. Can you send it to me? I'll add it to the Unidata McIDAS-X distribution. re: > I want to shift the scale to start showing the blue colors at about 0 °C or > 273 K instead of -20 °C or 253 K. I can do that with stretch table, correct? Yes. The other thing you could do is to list out the enhancement using EU LIST, figure out what the brightness range that maps to the temperature range you are interested in, and make a new enhancement using the new brightness values using EU MAKE. There are lots of ways of accomplishing the same thing in McIDAS. re: > Ah, thanks for letting me know about the new version of McIDAS. I'll look > into installing it on our servers. Very good.
