I don't recall never seeing /mnt/hgfs in a 'df' listing, so I don't have a ready answer for you here. My _guess_ is that somehow the configuration for your virtual machine does not include Windows directories that you want shared with the VM. Questions: - have you checked to re-verify that the configuration for your VM still has a list of directories Windows directories that you want to be able to access from inside of your VM? - the other thing is that every time I upgrade the kernel inside of the VM, I have to rerun the configuration (not install) script for VMware tools as 'root' inside of my VM If neither of these fits your problem, the best I can offer is to do some Google searching to see if others have run into the same problem and have posted solutions.
