Hi Matthew, re: > My educational use has come and gone – and NAM would typically work. OK. Please remember that the default type is GFS, not NAM (so the TYPE= keyword has to be specified to get NAM). re: > While I’m no expert in this, it is as if there is a problem in some pointer or > something – why would it start showing the middle of MOS output?? The snafu likely has to do with needing to rebuild the rapid access files. I did this when I installed XCD v2016 on lead, but I did not update anything when I installed v2017. I wouldn't have thought that this should cause a problem but, you never know. re: > Perhaps I need to reconsider where I get this output?? Perhaps, but from where? The reason I ask is the following: - SSEC no longer supports McIDAS-X/XCD on Solaris machines - lead.unidata.ucar.edu is the only Linux based motherlode class server that we operate This means that I am unable to update my McIDAS-X/XCD installations on our Solaris motherlode class machines, adde.ucar.edu, atm.ucar.edu, and unidata2-new.ssec.wisc.edu (aka idd.ssec.wisc.edu, adde.ssec.wisc.edu). Aside: I've tried to build current versions of McIDAS-X under Solaris x86, but the HDF5 package (which is needed to serve GOES-R data) won't build. I have to figure something out to mitigate this situation in the relatively near future as we start making GOES-16 data available. re: > No worries in the short run Tom – and this is something we can worry over when > life is less busy for both of us. Sounds good. re: > Thanks! No worries. Cheers, Tom -- **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
