Have you checked out the "very high" resolution maps that are available
in OUTVHRES ("very high" resolution land-water borders) and OUTVHPOL
("very high" resolution land-water and political boundaries) map files?
The way that you use either of these map files (any map file for that
matter) is by specifying the file in the MAP invocation.
For instance:
SF 1
ERASE F
MAP NA FILE=OUTVHRES
ERASE F
MAP NACONF FILE=OUTVHRES
ERASE F
MAP WORLD FILE=OUTVHRES
etc.
and:
MAP NA FILE=OUTVHPOL
ERASE F
MAP NACONF FILE=OUTVHPOL
ERASE F
MAP WORLD FILE=OUTVHPOL
To see all of the map outline files included in Unidata McIDAS-X, run:
DMAP OUT
Cheers,
Tom
