Hi Heather, As you will have seen, I moved this email into our inquiry tracking system... re: > I am having a problem with my METEOSAT -10 Visible data. We get this > data in real-time from NESDIS. Are you accessing the METEOSAT-10 imagery from a NESDIS ADDE server? If yes, which one? re: > My problem is ONLY with visible bands 1 > and 2, my IR data is fine. I also logged onto our SSEC account on openarchive > and imgcopied two visible times from there and found the same problem: > MET9 imgcopies fine, but I see white for MET10. Hmm... Using McIDAS-X v2014 I just displayed a BAND 1 VIS image directly from the ADDE server at EUMETSAT (a server for which one has to have specific permission to access), and then IMGCOPYed it to a local image and displayed the copy. I had no problem with either the direct display (IMGDISP) or display of the copied image. Questions: - have you tried doing the IMGCOPY from a McIDAS-X session? If yes, what was the result? - could I get one or two of the images in AREA file format you got from EUMETSAT so I could test them here? re: > I have attached a pptx to illustrate the issue. Just so you know: it would be easier for me if you would send a screen capture (use the McIDAS FRMSAVE function) instead of a Power Point file. re: > Have you encountered this problem before?? No, I haven't. re: > Do you know a fix? As soon as I can test one or two of the AREA files you got from EUMETSAT, I should be able to say more about what may be going on. re: > I have also attached two scripts so you can see how we perform our imgcopy: > > getMSG.py is how we grab the data from NESDIS in realtime > > msg_vis_downloader.py shows how we grab the archived data from SSEC. A cursory scan of your Python scripts doesn't reveal anything obvious. re: > Mary Ellen Craddock has been working with me on this and she is stumped > as well, that is why I cc'd her on this email. OK. Hi Mary Ellen! re: > We appreciate any help you can offer! Send me one or two AREA files you got from EUMETSAT, and I will test them in both McIDAS v2014 and v2009 and let you know my results.
