Hi Heather,

Excellent! But, I am a little wary of the solution. Why? I am using gcc and
gfortran v4.4.7 for my McIDAS development environment which is running in a
CentOS
6.5 x86_64 virtual machine, and I am have not experienced the same problem as
you.

This is strange because if one walks through our web site to the LDM download
page,
the eventual landing point is an FTP directory. That this would not work for
you
is unexpected, but it may have something to do with the security in-place at
your
site (ours is open, so the problem does not originate here). You may want to
try FTPing directly:

ftp ftp.unidata.ucar.edu
  <user> anonymous
  <pass> address@hidden
  cd pub/ldm

re:
> Is the latest LDM that you were telling me about available now?

Unfortunately, no. The reason is that we have run into a problem ingesting
the new NOAAPort broadcast... the problem is not with the LDM or NOAAPort
ingest, but, rather, with the Carrier/Noise (C/N) being marginally low.
I will see if Steve is willing/able to release v6.12.6 today...

re:

No worries. I'm glad to hear that you are making progress on the installations
on your new machines!

Cheers,

Tom
