Hi João, Sorry for not getting back to the problem you reported before now! re: > Sorry for all the emails, but although it looks better (I used both your > recommendations, one at a time), I still have problems! > See: http://146.164.46.6/sat/VIS/GOES/brasil/VIS-BRASIL-HD.GIF > > I don't think it is necessary to show the other scripts, because I am > calling this batch manually (through batch.k), and the problem persists. > > > Test this by starting an interactive McIDAS-X session, going to > > frame 1 and then running the commands by-hand > > I can't test it since the resolution is far too large for my screen. I put together a test I could run repeatedly here, and have verified that there is a limit to the size of a frame in which a displayed image can correctly be overlaid by maps. Through trial and error, I found that the largest frame size I can use in my test is 4715x4715. I thought I understood how this limit could be worked around (by changing some array sizes in McIDAS code), but I have not been able to get this to work. For reference, the test I have been using is: (in a local copy of mcrun.sh): mcenv -f 1@4715x4715 << EOF imgdisp.k MYDATA/IMAGES.3001 LAT=0 70 MAG=-2 map.k FILE=OUTBRAZILST MCOL=8 map.k FILE=OUTVHPOL MCOL=1 frmsave.k 1 GoesEastFullDiskVisibleMap_20130711_1745.gif FORM=GIF exit EOF My image, MYDATA/IMAGES.3001, is a GOES-East full disk vis image: Image file directory listing for:MYDATA/IMAGES Pos Satellite/ Date Time Center Res (km) Image_Size sensor Lat Lon Lat Lon --- ------------- ------------ -------- ---- ---- ----- ----- ------------ 3000 G-13 IMG 11 JUL 13192 17:45:00 0 70 Band: 1 0.63 um VIS Cloud and Surface Features 1.01 0.57 10820 x20824 proj: 0 created: 2013192 201843 memo: RT GVAR type:GVAR cal type:RAW offsets: data= 3328 navigation= 256 calibration= 2816 auxiliary= 0 doc length: 228 cal length: 0 lev length: 0 PREFIX= 232 valcod: 192174500 zcor: 0 avg-smp: N start yyddd: 2013192 start time:174518 start scan: 328 lcor: 2621 ecor: 5861 bytes per pixel: 2 ss:180 Resolution Factors (base=1): Line= 1.0 Element= 1.0 imglist.k: done I have attached the GIF image created (GoesEastFullDiskVisibleMap_20130711_1745.gif) to this email so you can take a look. I will get in touch with the developers at SSEC to see if they have a better handle on how to modify code to allow for larger images.
