Hi Amos,

Hello! Quite frankly, I though that you had retired... guess not :-)

re:
> Is there a list of APRO codes and their description?
Not really. As far as I know, there is no full description of all of the
products available in the GTS or in NOAAPort. The data products that are
available through the McIDAS WXTLIST (wxtlist.k) command are ones that
were sent in NOAAPort; these are undoubtedly a subset of the products
that are available in the GTS. Unfortunately, we (Unidata Program Center)
have no control over what the NWS chooses to take from the GTS and put
into NOAAPort. The reason for this is that the contents of NOAAPort
are determined by "NWS Operational needs" (NWS words, not mine). If
they determine that something is not needed for the forecast offices, it
is typically not included in NOAAPort.
All of that being said, McIDAS has a configuration file that provides
an insight into what is what for NOAAPort-delivered textual products.
The configuration file can be listed using the SEE (see.k) utility:
see.k WXCORE.PRD

True, this is not documentation, but it, at least assigns a name that
conveys some meaning to some of the products.

Tom
