[McIDAS #VCB-414258]: about Mcidas software ...

Our license to distribute McIDAS-X from the owners of the software,
the Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) of the University
of Wisconsin at Madison (UW) require us to verify that non-'.edu'
users adhere to the restrictions of use and redistribution of
McIDAS-X.  Since I know you/UChile, I know that you already meet
the criteria for use.

I just added you (address@hidden) to the list of non-'.edu'
sites that are allowed to download Unidata McIDAS-X.  If you logon
to our website with this email address, you should now be able to
download Unidata McIDAS-X.  If you logon using a different
email address, please let me know what that address is so I can
add an allow for it.

No, not at all.  We are required to control access to Unidata
McIDAS-X for non-'.edu' users (i.e., users not in U.S.
universities).  Your inability to get access to the distribution
was a result of your email address not being included in that
"exceptions" list.  As I noted above, you should now be able to
download Unidata McIDAS-X.

Note:

- I am in the process of updating the Unidata McIDAS-X release
  with new code modifications, so you may want to wait for
  a couple of days before downloading the distribution.
  If you can not wait, now worries.  You can always install
  an update that will bring your distribution up to date
  later.
