Hi Fred, Just thought I'd drop you a note to let you know that the GVAR serving on unidata2.ssec.wisc.edu is back up and running. The problem turned out to be a very strange one indeed: rebuilding the server executables (gvaradir, gvaraget and gvarnavf) via the makefile was producing executable code that contained the old calibration stuff for GOES-15. This was totally unexpected since I copied the new calibration module source (and a couple of supporting files) and told 'make' to replace the object modules in the McIDAS library with the newly rebuilt ones. It turned out that the 'ar' (archive manager) routine on unidata2 was not replacing the old modules in the library as it shoud, it was simply appending the new ones to the end. I found this out when I decided to force the issue this afternoon by deleting the McIDAS and SDI libraries and recreating them from the object modules that were there. After linking with the newly rebuilt libraries, the server 'AGET' module started sending back non-blank images. Very weird indeed!
