Hi Don, re: > A couple of notes: > > - the western portion of the IR images didn't update between 7:15 and > 8:45, but it looks like there was no 8Z imagery for GOES-W. I noticed that also. re: > - I asked for the last 21 E/W composite visible images but only got 10. > A configuration issue? Darkness :-)? There are 11 VIS composites available now, so it is not a configuration issue. NB: - I kick-off the compositing based on receipt of the GOES-East sector in the Unidata-Wisconsin (UNIWISC) IDD datastream. If the the GOES-East sector does not come in, the composite is not created. I intend to look into this a bit more if/when the creation of the composites gets moved to the machine creating the Unidata-Wisconsin sectors. re: would like to composite the longwave IR also > If only all satellites used the same wavelengths. ;-) This should happen when GOES-11 gets replaced with GOES-14 or GOES-15. When this will happen is, of course, unknown. re: > Just the notes above. Otherwise, they look great. I'm going to put > together a new bundle for my Science-on-a-Square wall and will put it up > on RAMADDA. Excellent! re: > Thanks again for tackling this. No worries. The work fits in with a move of the Unidata-Wisconsin image creation from unidata2.ssec.wisc.edu to the new motherlode clone that will replace unidata2. I have always wanted to create the East-West composites on the origination machine and send them to everyone (after letting them know that they should turn off their local compositing). This desire goes way back to a comment/request by Jim Koermer -- he was interested in seeing the partial composites (East or West sectors but not both) removed from the datasets he was accessing through ADDE.
