Hi Sepideh, I apologize for the slow reply; I am currently on travel and have limited access to email... re: > i sent you the errors that i got in the body of your previous email. > i still get the same errors. > will you please help me with those? > >> > > MGLIST TEST/GOES7.ALL > > Image file directory listing for:TEST/GOES7 > > IMGLIST: No images satisfy the selection criteria > > IMGLIST: done > > IMGLIST failed, RC=2 > > > > > >> > >> Please send the output of: > >> > >> DSSERVE LIST TEST > >> > > DSSERVE LIST TEST > > > > Group/Descriptor Type Format & Range RT Comment > > ------------------------ ----- ------------------ -- -------------------- > > TEST/GOES7 IMAGE AREA GOES-7 IMAGES > > DIRFILE=/sepide/mcidas/ir/goes7.1990.001.* > > DSSERVE: done > > > > > > > >> > >> an 'ls -l' for the directory where your AREA files are > >> > > -rw-r--r-- 1 sepide sepide 13M Jul 2 11:08 goes07.1990.001.0031.AREA_IR > > -rw-r--r-- 1 sepide sepide 13M Jul 2 11:12 goes07.1990.001.0131.AREA_IR > > -rw-r--r-- 1 sepide sepide 13M Jul 2 11:07 goes07.1990.001.0231.AREA_IR > > -rw-r--r-- 1 sepide sepide 13M Jul 2 11:09 goes07.1990.001.0331.AREA_IR > > -rw-r--r-- 1 sepide sepide 25M Jul 2 12:08 goes07.1990.001.0431-1.AREA_IR > > -rw-r--r-- 1 sepide sepide 13M Jul 2 11:51 goes07.1990.001.0531.AREA_IR > > -rw-r--r-- 1 sepide sepide 13M Jul 2 11:30 goes07.1990.001.0631.AREA_IR The DIRFILE= keyword for DSSERVE is a regular expression for the file name(s) to match for the dataset. If you cut and past the pattern you specified in the DIRFILE= keyword and use it as the pattern for an 'ls' command, you will see if the set of files specified is correct: <as the user you are running McIDAS as> ls -alt /sepide/mcidas/ir/goes7.1990.001.* If the 'ls' listing shows the files that you want in your ADDE dataset, but IMGLIST shows nothing, it likely means that the files you have are not McIDAS AREA files or they are somehow damaged. Please try the 'ls' as I indicate above and let me know the results. If the IMGLIST listing is empty, would it be possible for you to make one or more of your files available so I can take a close look at them?
