[McIDAS #JBI-672651]: Expanding widow of death

Hi again Mike,

Quick update:

I cranked up my Ubuntu Ultimate 1.4 Gnome virtual machine in VMWare
and ran Unidata McIDAS-X v2007f with no problems at all.

I am currently downloading Unidata McIDAS-X/-XCD v2008 and will build
and test it in the same environment.

Question:

- if I can't replicate the problem here, would it be possible to
  login to your machine (SSH, that is) to do some troubleshooting
  there?
