Hi Paul, re: > Happy new year! I hope things are going well in Phoenix. We're not in Phoenix yet, but we did just finish packing the supplies for the booth we will have in the exhibits area at the AMS meeting. > I am in > California this week and trying to figure out our McIDAS problems and am > afraid I am in over my head at this moment! OK. > We had the new servers put in as you know. Gilbert installed McIDAS on > climate and suppposedly things are running except for the scripts. I apologize for not being able to get to the installations in a timely manner. I was working on modifications needed to upgrade the bundled Tcl/Tk package to the latest version available. The problem is that the new version did not support a construct I used in my MCGUI interface, and I had to spend some time figuring out exactly what needed to be changed. I finished the changes on Sunday night, and ran tests on Monday here in the office. The result is a new McIDAS 2008 addendum, v2008c. > COuld you look at the crontab listing (as user mcidas) and see what the > problems are? I have several kickoff scripts. So, I should trace the process from cron entries for the user 'mcidas'? > They are still not running and there must be problems with grids and > strong tables etc... I am not quite sure what you mean by "strong tables", but I will have a look anyway. > I have not used McIDAS manually for a long time so I need to relearn > some things. OK, no worries. > I really would like to get the satellite imagery up and running soon as > these are commonly used across the nation. OK. I will try to logon sometime this afternoon or evening. Right now I am involved in writing a final report for a project, and after that I have to write my AMS paper so I can submit it tomorrow. > Thanks ahead of time if you have time! :-) Again, I will try to get to this as soon as possible.
