[McIDAS #OXG-395498]: conversion of lac level1b to area format

Sorry, I do not know of a way to do this in Matlab or IDL.  You may
want to join our mcidas-x email list and post your question there (you
must join any of the lists we maintain before you will be allowed to

Hmm... I am confused here.  Did you get McIDAS-X from SSEC or McIDAS-V?
I ask because the only way you should have been able to get McIDAS-X
was by joining the MUG.
