Hi Samuel, I'm on the move still in Madison, so this will be kinda short... re: > I am seeing some strange behavior on our ADDE server. > > I have added several datasets (like GINIEAST & GINIWEST) to our adde server, > however I don't see these datasets as being available outside our local > network > (cup.edu). When I try to connect to our ADDE server from home > (zoominternet.net) > I only see about 4 data sets: > CIMSS > RTIMAGES > RTNEXRAD (I think) > TOPO > > What gives? If you are trying to see the datasets using the IDV, then there is a configuration step that you must perform each time you add/delete a dataset in the 'mcidas' account on your ADDE server, shu.cup.edu: <as 'mcidas'> cd $MCDATA cp RESOLV.SRV PUBLIC.SRV -- edit PUBLIC.SRV and remove the lines that define MYDATA datasets Reason: the IDV reads the contents of PUBLIC.SRV to see what datasets the McIDAS administrator (you) has defined and wants to be publically accessible. > I thought opening up port 112 would open the ADDE server for all ADDE > products, > am I missing something? Please see above. Cheers, Tom **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
