Rosie, Dee, Jay, and Jerry, Regarding problems seen serving the GOES-East/West datasets off of unidata2.ssec.wisc.edu after I upgraded McIDAS from a 32-bit build of v2006 to a 64-bit build of v2007: Jay wrote: > We have never seen this type of behavior before. When I switch back to the 32-bit build of Unidata McIDAS v2006, ADDE serving of EAST data starts acting as it should. For instance: v2007 gvaradir listing: IMGLIST EAST/NH.-1 Image file directory listing for:EAST/NH Pos Satellite/ Date Time Center Band(s) sensor Lat Lon --- ------------- ------------ -------- ---- ---- ------------ 9970 G-12 IMG 15 SEP 07258 07:15:00 14 72 1-4,6 9972 G-12 IMG 15 SEP 07258 08:15:00 4 80 1-4,6 IMGLIST: done 64-bit v2007 gvaradir listing: IMGLIST EAST/NH.-1 Image file directory listing for:EAST/NH Pos Satellite/ Date Time Center Band(s) sensor Lat Lon --- ------------- ------------ -------- ---- ---- ------------ 426 G-12 IMG 25 SEP 07268 22:15:00 22 71 1-4,6 425 G-12 IMG 25 SEP 07268 21:45:00 22 71 1-4,6 IMGLIST: done So, I am led to believe that there is something wrong either with the v2007 version of gvaradir/gvaraget or that building 64-bit executables is the culprit. NB: the symptoms of the problems seen with the 64-bit version of v2007 are that the directory listings are temporarily inverted from what they should be: an IMGLIST/NH.-1 listing should show the newest data in the dataset (which it does using v2006) not the oldest (which is what happens with the 64-bit v2007 build). I will rebuild v2007 in 32-bit mode to see if this makes a difference; I will keep you posted on what I find.
