Hi Mark, Latest update on GRID decoding: Adding an entry to NOGRIB.CFG uncovered a bug in xcdgrib.c that would result in DMGRID (dmgrid.k) producing segmentation violations every time a CWDI grid was processed. I found and corrected the problem this morning and just released addendum v2006c. Here is what you need to do to install the addendum: <login to your XCD machine as 'mcidas'> cd ~mcidas/mcidas2006/update ftp ftp.unidata.ucar.edu <user> xxxxx <pass> xxxxx cd unix/2006/bugfix binary get mcupdate.tar.gz get mcupdate get mcupdate.list.2006c quit chmod +x ./mcupdate ./mcupdate cd ../src make all <as 'ldm'> ldmadmin stop <back as 'mcidas' still in the ~mcidas/mcidas2006/src directory> make install.all <back as 'ldm'> ldmadmin start The addendum installation will result in - a new DMGRID executable (dmgrid.k) - in a new copy of NOGRIB.CFG in the ~mcidas/workdata directory The new DMGRID executable now honors NOGRIB.CFG entries for GRIB messages to not decode. Also included in this addendum are: - inclusion of FY-2C (Chinese Meteorological Agency geostationary satellite) bands in ADDEIMAGE.CORE (MCGUI functionality) - uncommenting of RTNEXRAD definitions in ADDEIMAGE.CORE (MCGUI functionality) - modification of the PATH command to give the user control over plotting small boxes at path points - update of NLDNDISP to support USPLN lightning data - update of NLDN MD file schema, DCNLDN, to support USPLN lightning data - small bugfix in XCD configuration script, xcdconfig - addition of CSU/CIRA enhancement, TPWC2.ET Please let me know if the DMGRID modifications stop the grid processing problems on your FreeBSD 4.10 system.
