Hi Hsie, re: Would you like me to logon to take a look at the setup? > Yes. Please go through cirrus. Some setups are working, Some are not: > > squall:[42]% imglist.k RTNEXRAD/N0R ID=FTG > Image file directory listing for:RTNEXRAD/N0R > imglist.k: error opening configuration file > imglist.k: done This error was output because the configuration file specified in the ADDE dataset definition for the group RTNEXRAD, LNEXRAD.CFG, was not found. I think you simply forgot to create this file in the ~mcidas/linux/workdata directory. I created it for you as follows: <as 'mcidas'> cd /home/mcidas/linux/workdata cp NNEXRAD.CFG LNEXRAD.CFG -- edit LNEXRAD.CFG and modify FILEMASK= to be: FILEMASK=\TYPE_* > squall:[45]% grdlist.k RTGRIDS/ALL FORM=FILE NUM=ALL > DATASET NAME: RTGRIDS/ALL > Dataset Position Creation Date Max Grids Directory Title > ---------------- ------------- --------- ------------------------------- > 4 2006123 5000 Misc. I looked at: RTIMAGES, NEXRCOMP, RTPTSRC, RTNEXRAD, and GINIEAST. The datasets that I found that were not being populated were: GINIWEST, some GINICOMP, CIMSS. The reason that these datasets are empty is that you are not ingesting/processing the data to fill them. By the way, I did make two minor changes to your setup: - moved the scouring of McIDAS-XCD created data from 'mcidas' crontab to 'ldm's crontab. I did this by commenting out the entry in the 'mcidas' crontab file; adding the same entry to 'ldm's crontab file; and copying ~mcidas/linux/workdata/mcscour.sh to ~ldm/util. I find that it is better to use a "local" copy of the scour script so that any changes you make to it are not overwritten when a new installation of McIDAS is made. - copied ~mcidas/linux/bin/xcd_run to ~ldm/util. I did this for the same reason as for mcscour.sh: it is better to have a copy that will not be overwritten by a new McIDAS installation or upgrade. I also checked out the configuration of ADDE remote access. All looks correct, and seems to be working without problem. So, it looks like the only thing you forgot was to make the LNEXRAD.CFG file. Please let me know if I missed anything. Cheers, Tom **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
