I guess this has something to do with the >fact that MCTABLE.TXT isn't being created! No. The existence of ~mcidas/workdata/MCTABLE.TXT will depend on two different things: 1) the user 'mcidas' not setting MCTABLE_WRITE before running DATALOC for the first time -- this is an mistake -- 2) the user 'mcidas' creating MCTABLE.TXT _by hand_ so s/he can have a different set of DATALOCs than the one s/he is setting up for the non-'mcidas' McIDAS users re: my attempt to get at storm2.atmos.unca.edu >Take out the "o" from atmos, it's storm2.atms.unca.edu. Works for me. OK, my problem. I am able to ping and ssh to storm2, but I forgot the 'mcidas' login information, so I am unable to actually logon and do anything. Can you give me the McIDAS login info so I can see for myself what may be causing the DSINFI I BLIZZARD problem? If yes, send the password to my personal email account, address@hidden, without specifying the machine or user names for the logon. >I'll e-mail Alex right now to let him know that you will be doing the >upgrade and suggest that he e-mail the username/password to both you and I. OK, sounds good. >How do you know Alex? Alex has been the UNCA contact to Unidata since 1988. He attended the first series of workshops that we put on in the spring of that year, and I was one of the trainers. It is heartening that virtually all of the attendees of the first workshop are still actively involved in Unidata, and I remain friends with them to this date. >Thanks Tom! No worries Tom
