This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. GEMPAK and McIDAS are both password protected.  Access information
is below.  Use ftp.unidata.ucar.edu as the server.

GEMPAK:

user: gbuddy
passwd: XXXXXX
dir: nawips-5.4
file: gempak54upc_pl8.tar.gz

McIDAS:

user: umcidas
passwd: XXXXXX!
dir: unix/740           (note we are going to release 7.50 this week
                         so then it will be unix/750)

The best way to download the McIDAS software is to use the installation
instructions at the address listed above.  There is a page for downloading
the files - the username and password is the same.
