Hi, re: > That is very strange, especially considering both 128.117.135.3 and > 128.117.130.3 are > producing the same slowdown to our server. Steve and I ran a test the other data that changed the upstream host from one at Unidata to a top level IDD relay at UWisconsin (idd.aos.wisc.edu) during a period of high reported latencies being reported by mammatus. The results were exactly the same as when REQUESTing from either/both of idd.unidata.ucar.edu and iddb.unidata.ucar.edu. I recommend that you repeat and expand this test by changing your REQUESTs to either/both of the following: idd.aos.wisc.edu idd.meteo.psu.edu If after switching the latencies being experienced on mammatus are unchanged, then the slowdown is at/near TTU. If, on the other hand, the latencies drop to expected levels _and_ stay there, then the problem is at/close to us. re: > Can you send me a full capture (showing both directions) of say 30 seconds or > so? I'd > like to compare what the capture looks like on your server compared to mine. > > 128.117.135.3 <> 129.118.186.9 > 128.117.130.3 <> 129.118.186.9 I think that switching your upstream feed host as I recommend above will be a more definitive test, and one that you can control from your end. Please give it a whirl... Cheers, Tom -- **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
