Bill,

How long did you wait after the "ldmadmin stop" before you used the "kill -9"? 
All the programs that write to the product-queue will postpone responding to an 
"ldmadmin stop" while they're writing to the queue.

Also, you know that a "kill -9" will likely result in a corrupted 
product-queue. Right?
