Erik, The sequence-number is formatted using the conversion specification "%u" -- so the string will only have as many characters as are necessary to format the 32-bit sequence-number (the maximum number of characters will be 9). > Do you know if the seq number ever expands past 9 digits? > > Is there a way to truncate the 9 digits to something less? > > The database admin would like to cut it down, because we are storing the > filenames in the database, so adding an extra 9 characters takes up a lot > of space over time.
