Dave, Same dissimilar treatment of the "z" and "xml2" libraries. If the "z" library still exists in the "/usr/local/lib" directory, then perhaps the linker is still finding it there rather than in "/usr/lib" and the situation is unimproved. Would you mind deleting the "z" library in "/usr/local/lib" and trying again?
