  • Subject: [LDM #LIF-500875]: ldmping port
  • Date: Sat, 11 Oct 2014 12:25:24 -0600

Virginia,

A downstream LDM will first try to connect to the upstream LDM using port 388
on the upstream host. If that fails, then the downstream LDM will try to
connect to the portmapper on the upstream host. The portmapper uses port 111.

If you network staff isn't seeing an attempt on port 388, then something's
blocking the attempt.

> Hi Steve
> Yes I am told we allow 388
> But our Network staff says they are seeing traffic on 111 at the FW not 388

Regards,
Steve Emmerson
