I forgot to mention that netcheck(1) is deprecated and shouldn't be used. A 
better alternative is crontab(1)-based use of the "ldmadmin check" command and 
use of the "/insertion-check-interval" registry parameter (which is documented 
at 
<http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/ldm/ldm-current/basics/LDM-registry.html>.
