Does the file "~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf" have a REQUEST entry referencing host 
"unidata.sse.wisc.edu"? If not, then this is irrelevant. If so, then the 
inability to resolve the name into an IP address is a fatal problem.

Looks like you have problems with your hostname resolution system. It needs to 
be fixed.
