Odd.
What does the command "ldm-6.11.5/bin/ldmd -vl- -n etc/ldmd.conf" output when
run by the LDM user in their home-directory?

I didn't see the ^M-s either using both gedit(1) and vim(1). I suspect it has
something to do with how they're configured.
I finally used "od -c" to see the ^M-s. You should too.
