I can't imagine how the pqcreate(1) utility could create a product-queue that's 
too large for the pqcheck(1) utility to handle because they both use the pq(3) 
library to access the queue.

Could you have used the pqcreate(1) utility from one installation and the 
pqcheck(1) utility from another?
