[LDM #TMA-441215]: Beta test 6.9?

It's probably appending a line to file "~/var/logs/metrics.txt".

Do a "man bash" for the bash(1) shell on the misbehaving system. See what the 
"-l" and "-c" options are for that bash(1). Try experimenting with some command 
variations to see if you can get it to work (I don't have access to that 
operating-system here).
