Hi Robert, > I am evaluating RHEL 5.5 x64 on a test server and I cannot get the ldm to > stop. I compiled ldm 6.8.1 and installed. It seems to be running OK, but > ldmadmin stop will not work. What I get is below...just endless "Waiting for > the ..etc. ps -ef shows ldm and the GEMPAK decoders continuing to run. > Is this a Linux issue or an ldm 6.8.1 issue? > > > [ldm@rhtest ~]$ ldmadmin stop > Flushing the LDM product-queue to disk... > Stopping the LDM server... > kill 693: No such process > Waiting for the LDM to terminate > Waiting for the LDM to terminate > Waiting for the LDM to terminate > Waiting for the LDM to terminate > Waiting for the LDM to terminate > Waiting for the LDM to terminate > Waiting for the LDM to terminate I suspect that it's a GEMPAK issue. I think that one or more of the GEMPAK decoder processes is continuing to run despite its parent pqact(1) process terminating and closing the decoder's input stream. You can verify this by kill(1)ing the remaining GEMPAK decoder processes. This should cause the ldmadmin(1) script to terminate. Please let me know what you discover. > Thanks, > Robert Mullenax > CSBF Meteorology Regards, Steve Emmerson Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: CFC-670146 Department: Support LDM Priority: Normal Status: Closed
