If you can't get notifications of data-products using notifyme(1), then you
won't be able to get that same data via the LDM.
I can get notifications from idd.cise-nsf.gov using the same command, so I
suspect the problem is due to some firewall rule not allowing your system to
create a TCP connection to port 388 on idd.cise-nsf.gov.
