[LDM #LYF-913869]: syslog facility?

A side issue is that the file /etc/syslog.conf should have
"local3.none" entries for your system log files. For example:

*.err;kern.notice;auth.notice;user.none;local3.none /dev/console
*.err;kern.debug;daemon.notice;mail.crit;user.none;local3.none /var/adm/messages
