[LDM #LYF-913869]: syslog facility?

That's odd.  That option has worked.

What are the outputs from the commands

    grep LOG_LDM $HOME/config/ldmconfig.h
    grep local /etc/syslog.conf

Did you start from scratch or execute the command "make distclean"
before executing the command "make"?
