What are the symptoms?

What are the relevant messages in the LDM log file (logs/ldmd.log)?

Can you ldmping(1) the upstream LDM-s that are in the REQUEST entries
in the LDM configuration-file (etc/ldmd.conf)?  Can you ping(1) them?
What does a notifyme(1) to them do?
