20051214: TAMU networking questions

Hi Gerry,

Several questions:

- is the TAMU network Gigabit
- does it support large TCP frames

If the TAMU network is Gigabit, we would like to be allowed to run
some 'iperf' tests to SCOOP participants, Unidata IDD participants,
and ECMWF (where testing is going on to evaluate use of LDM/IDD
for TIGGE).
