We need better monitoring. You can send real time stats back to Unidata and/or send them to a machine of your choice (running the LDM, of course). All that is needed to do this is to specify a different LDM host in the -h field of rtstats 'exec' entry in ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf. The LDM has a man page on rtstats that will give the information you need. The data is sent in the EXP feed type, and is simple ASCII text. So, to get things going, I would add in sending of rtstats to a machine of your choosing and then start looking at the data. What you do with it will be up to your imagination. We write the data for all sites into a netCDF file and then run cgi scripts to create plots of latency, etc. on demand by the end user. >Thanks, Gerry No worries. Cheers, Tom -- NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web. If you do not want to have your interactions made available in this way, you must let us know in each email you send to us. >From address@hidden Wed Aug 17 08:59:41 2005 Thanks. I'll start that process today. I may have other questions, but I may be able to handle things on my own! gerry
